The Tacoma has a towing capacity of between 3500-6400 lbs. The contrast in towing capacities is dependent on the engine that’s equipped and whether or not the towing package is added. The minimum towing capacity of 3500 lbs is for both the 4cyl and V6 powered Tacoma. It’s only when you add the Towing Package to the V6 engine that the tow power is expanded to 6400 pounds. Despite its smaller size, the Tacoma is one competent hauler and can tackle more than you would think.
Depending on the engine you choose, the Toyota Tacoma has horsepower of 159 to 278. The base model starts with a 2.7L 4-cylinder engine. This 2.7L engine produces 159 horsepower and is coupled with a 6-speed auto transmission. To get up to 278 hp your Tacoma will need an optional 3.5L V6 engine. That engine is also paired with a standard 6-speed automatic transmission, but a 6-speed manual transmission is available on certain trims options.
The curb weight of the Toyota Tacoma ranges from 3915 lbs all the way up to 4465 lbs.
The 4-cylinder, RWD Tacoma weighs in the lightest at 3,915 pounds. When you put in the V6 engine and 4WD the curb weight increases slightly to 4,465 lbs. Doesn’t matter if you want RWD, 4-Wheel Drive, the V6, or the 4-cylinder, the Toyota Tacoma is a reliable and sturdy vehicle that can tackle a myriad of situations.
Ground clearance of the Toyota Tacoma is 9.4 inches. If you’re looking to pursue any kind of serious off-roading or live in a climate with lots of snow then you’d look for a minimum of 8-inches of ground clearance. As you can see, the Tacoma provides an impressive amount of clearance and makes for a remarkably capable off-road truck. So, whether you are looking to hit the trails or just don’t want to get stuck during the winter, the Toyota Tacoma brings a lot to the table.

The waiting time is two long for an oil change. I like working with Emely Ayala. She is the highlight of the visit. I will work with her again.
